Population and Development Integration (POPDEV) Planning Workshop
Is a strategic capacity-building initiative conducted by the Zarraga Municipal Population Office—in collaboration with the Office of the Provincial Population Officers—tailored specifically for Barangay Development Councils (BDCs). As one component of the Philippine Population Development Program (PPDP), this workshop marks a critical shift from traditional planning toward an evidence-based, people-centered development framework. Instead of treating demographic figures as passive numbers or focusing solely on distributing family planning supplies, the workshop trains barangay local government units (LGUs) to treat data as a dynamic planning tool. By integrating data on population growth, age structures, and fertility patterns directly into local policies, BDCs can formulate highly responsive Barangay Development Plans (BDPs).

This recognition highlights the office’s exceptional localization and implementation of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action (PPDP-POA) 2023-2028. This award underscores the local team’s relentless effort to turn regional population policies into impactful, real-world services for Zarraganhons.
